New York Center for Ambulatory Surgery (NYCAS) center is a non-contracted facility, but what does this mean? This does not mean that we will not accept your insurance, rather we do not currently have direct contact with your insurance plan. However, if you have a plan with out-of-network benefits, you have the choice of utilizing physicians and facilities outside your carrier's network. We understand that navigating the insurance process is daunting and confusing, and we are committed to helping our patients avoid the stress of these unknowns. Prior to surgery, you will be contacted by our Patient Liaison to review benefits and expected financial obligation due either on the day of surgery or once the claim has processed. This will include your estimated responsibility, which is based on the surgical codes provided by your surgeon. After surgery, a claim will be billed out on your behalf and our billing team will continue to communicate with your insurance carrier until the claim has been completed. Our team is here to help navigate through the insurance process, so please contact us for any questions. The provided estimate does not include anesthesia, laboratory, pathology or physicians assistant fees that may be associated with the procedure. We encourage you to contact your surgeon to determine if one of the listed services will be required. NYCAS currently works with the following providers:

In accordance with New York’s “Emergency Medical Services and Surprise Bills” law, we must provide certain information to patients including the names of all health plans in which the Center participates and all affiliated hospitals. This law is intended to provide consumer protections against “surprise” medical bills received from out-of-network physicians/facilities in order to reduce costs to patients.
